Dr. Monika Sulik – Assistant Professor, since 2002, academic lecturer at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Silesia in Katowice. Coordinator of the University of the Third Age at the Open University of the University of Silesia. Certified trainer and academic mentor. She is an andragogue whose scientific and research interests are related to the lifelong development of adults from an interdisciplinary perspective. For 20 years, she has been particularly interested in issues related to the search for a catalyst for memories, which resulted in about 60 scientific articles, but also a tool that gives an opportunity to gain insight into the mechanisms that govern life stories, which is the Biographical Life Map. One of her greatest teaching inspirations were impossible figures, the attempt to implement them in the field of humanities resulted in the creation of an original teaching tool, the biographical cube. She is an enthusiast of biographical research, where the “meeting” with Kitau from the Kikuyus tribe was particularly valuable for the researcher. During her teaching classes mainly in the field of andragogy, adult education, family counseling and biography in education, she very often tries to open Pandora’s box, which turns out to be an inexhaustible source of teaching inspiration for her.

She is a member of the Academic Andragogical Society (where she serves as the chairwoman of the peer jury) and the Association of Social Gerontologists, and since 2018 I have been the editor of the scientific journal “Edukacja Dorosych”. She is an enthusiast of initiatives and projects aimed at adults, both silvers and millennials, which is reflected in the teaching, organizational and scientific projects she undertakes. Privately, she loves biographical literature and uses every possible opportunity to travel and contact with nature. She is a book lover and a collector of memories.
