S\u0142owianie byli ludem rolniczym, co t\u0142umaczy ich rozprzestrzenianie si\u0119 wzd\u0142u\u017c \u017cyznych dolin rzecznych, co sprzyja\u0142o rolnictwu.<br \/>Wraz z up\u0142ywem czasu, S\u0142owianie podzielili si\u0119 na trzy g\u0142\u00f3wne grupy: wschodnich, zachodnich i po\u0142udniowych. Ka\u017cda z tych grup rozwija\u0142a w\u0142asne j\u0119zyki, kultur\u0119 i tradycje, kt\u00f3re przetrwa\u0142y do dzisiejszych czas\u00f3w w formie r\u00f3\u017cnorodnych narod\u00f3w s\u0142owia\u0144skich. Wsp\u00f3\u0142czesne badania genetyczne i lingwistyczne dostarczaj\u0105 nowych informacji na temat wczesnych migracji i osadnictwa S\u0142owian, co pozwala lepiej zrozumie\u0107 ich histori\u0119 i dziedzictwo.
